SEPTA’s King of Prussia Rail Project (KOP Rail) will extend the existing Norristown High Speed Line (NHSL) 4 miles into King of Prussia (KOP), providing a high-speed, “one-seat” ride from any station along the NHSL, including the 69th Street Transportation Center in Upper Darby and the Norristown Transportation Center in Norristown.
With the addition of KOP Rail to SEPTA’s transportation network, Greater Philadelphia Area commuters, shoppers, students, and visitors will have access to frequent and reliable service between Center City, University City, and King of Prussia—the Delaware Valley’s three largest employment centers—in 45 minutes. This is less than a typical trip on the I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway).
The NHSL has an on-time performance average of 95 percent, serving the Main Line area in Delaware and Montgomery Counties, including numerous colleges and universities such as Villanova University, Haverford College, Rosemont College, and Bryn Mawr College.
KOP Rail is currently in the project development phase.
